The class visited Sloan Implement in Riggston today where Doug Awe, Store Manager, spoke to them and gave them a tour of the John Deere dealership. Doug spoke to the students about his path to where he is now and how his educational background played a role in that journey. He told the students to get involved and to do something to set themselves apart from the pack. He encouraged them to work hard and to make connections.

Doug also spoke to the students about Sloan Implement and the transition of ownership from Arends-Awe to Sloan. Doug, and his wife Marsha, had co-owned the John Deere dealership, with locations in Riggston and Perry, since 1995 and 1996 respectively. In March 2020, Sloan Implement purchased the dealership and Arends-Awe became one of 26 Sloan locations in three states.

Wayne Brown, Service Manager, Brent Newberry, Parts Manager, Dan Burk, Lawn & Garden Service Manager, and Luke Hubbert, Sales, also spoke to the class about their responsibilities.

Thank you to Sloan’s staff for their time, we so much appreciate it. (And the snacks were awesome too!)
