TikTok! Really?! Why TikTok? Can’t CEO time be used for something more productive? Actually…not really. Thank you for asking! The task of creating a TikTok emulates those tasks required in many professional settings. It requires planning, time management, organization, cooperation, collaboration, and creativity. It’s amazing to watch the process of 27 students completing this task! TikTok is something which with the students are familiar. If they can realize that they can complete these tasks well, they can transfer those skills to other settings with which they may not be as familiar…and be successful. I had an All State Football player tell me one year that he couldn’t speak into a microphone. This is after I watched him literally gouge a few eyes through helmets on a football field! I’ve also had cheerleaders tell me they can’t get up and speak in front of people. Isn’t that what they do at every game? These students are amazing at their role in places where they are comfortable and familiar. It just takes a little to show them they can excel at the same role on a different stage. The TikTok challenge does just that! But for now, that will be our little secret. 🤫 So when I say I’m retiring from TikTok and then see the students accomplishing their goals and they ask me to be in the TikTok, how can I say no? 🤦🏻‍♀️ The students just need to keep doing amazing things and having some fun along the way! 💙🧡💚
