The class visited Prairieland FS this morning where CEO, Keith Hufendick, spoke to them about the history of the business and how they got to where they are today. He told them that Prairieland FS, Inc. is a full service agricultural and energy supplier dedicated to providing high-quality products and services for the purpose of improving customer profitability. Their mission is to provide excellence for their customers and they envision being the leading supplier of choice. Keith also broke down where every dollar that Prairieland brings in goes.
Rich Archer, Agronomy Marketing Manager, and Keith Martin, Energy Procurement Coordinator, also spoke to the class about Prairieland FS’s business model and company history. Rich shared his background in agronomy and how he came to work for Prairieland FS 30 years ago. He shared insight on the sales side and how his team of crop specialists take care of their customers.
Keith discussed his background, starting as an intern with Prairieland while attending John Wood Community College and becoming a crop specialist in 2000. Keith now works on the energy side of the business and shared how the company manages risk when it comes to fuel and propane sales.
Amy Headen, Talent Acquisition, and Lauren Hadden, Communications and Recruiting Specialist, spoke to the class about careers and benefits with Prairieland FS. (And they treated us to an amazing hot cocoa and donut bar!)
Thank you so much to Prairieland FS staff for allowing us to visit and for their time! Your hospitality is greatly appreciated.
