Judy Tighe spoke to the students this morning about Jacksonville Main Street and what she does as their Executive Director. She spoke of the important role downtown areas have played in towns and cities throughout history. She also gave a bit of history about Jacksonville’s downtown and how it has evolved over the years. She took the students on a tour of the Jacksonville square and discussed the businesses that make up the downtown area. Students were shocked to hear the number of business and apartments there are in the downtown area. Did you know there are currently 190 businesses in the downtown Jacksonville area?!

Thank you, Judy, for showing us the revitalized downtown Jacksonville area!
