Jamie Headen, President of Benton and Associates, visited class today to talk about what he and his associates do. He gave them a brief history of the firm telling them how Bob Benton, along with Paul Hanson and Dick Rawlings, founded the civil engineering and surveying firm in 1970 and how Benton and Associates has locations in Illinois and Missouri.

Jamie talked to the students about some of the projects the firm has completed, which included parking lots, bus shelters and water treatment plants. Many of these projects included daily services that we take for granted. But the best advice Jamie gave them today was about life. It’s hard. You may not know everything. You need to start thinking about your future now. Learn to get along and communicate with people. Make connections with people. It’s all so true!

Thank you for your time and advice today, Jamie. We so much appreciate it!
