Well, THAT was fun!!! The class visited The Plaza today on the square in Jacksonville and talked to owner, John Rohn, about the space. The Plaza is retail and office space in downtown Jacksonville that currently houses seven independent retail store fronts: Rooted Homestead, Plan C Supply, Eunoia Mama Co., Grit and Grace, Rustic Renovations, Howland Hair, and Willow Branch Boutique. The Plaza is also home The Vault Ax Throwing & VR Escape Room and Springfield Brewing Co.

John talked about how he and his wife, Rachel, came to own not only The Plaza, but also Fitness World, K’s Creek, and the old MacMurray College gym.

John told the students that being an entrepreneur is about find a need and then filling that need. He said that if there are things to do to bring people to Jacksonville, those people will also spend money in town on other things.

John gave the class a tour of the building and the students even got to throw some axes! Such an amazing building with some awesome Jacksonville history.

Thank you, John, for your time this morning!
